The story of a home that chose conservation.
The Calle family acquired San Felipe in 1989, drawn to its biodiversity and rare beauty. For years, it was the setting for vacations, family gatherings, and long evenings around the fire. Eventually, the desire to share it with others took root.
Today, San Felipe Lodge, Birding & Wellness is both a nature reserve and a retreat for travelers looking to watch birds, photograph wildlife, rest deeply, and form a more mindful relationship with nature.
The reserve
22 hectares of protected life
Thirteen hectares of humid forest, along with gardens, trails, water sources, and restoration areas, form a living corridor in Colombia’s Western Andes.
San Felipe lies within the Aguacatal River watershed, in a region recognized by BirdLife International as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area.
